If my adult son illegally downloads music over my internet am I responsible?

as the person who pays for the internet and it is registered in your name you could be criticized but they would be going after him, not you. The way that people are being sued for illegal music is because of sharing it over a network, not simply downloading it. RIAA says its basically impossible to track downloads but they can find the people who share it. Right now they are mainly targeting universities because thats where most of the offenders are grouped. do not threaten to kick your son out over something like this. how would u feel if he left and never came back again? Also, for the very few people who are caught, settling out of court is the smartest option and basically all have walked away with penalties under $10,000.
