Whats a good gun for me?

umm yeah i am, 4'11 and weigh 100 pounds and i was looking into buying a safe gun just in case something happens and i Need to protect my self (i am moving into my own apartment). i don't want a gun with any recoil and one preferably easy to hold and that wont jam..all the gun stored confuse me (blonde) please help me out..budget is not really an issue honestly and i want to do this legally..thank you very much!
