Where can a russian go ??

I would like to meet with a russian friend as I am in croatia but realise getting a visa to russia is a pain and they cant come here... because they need a visa ...is there a place in europe that we can both go to without a visa??? please if someone knows it would mean the world to both of us ...Michael
